Final conference of the P7 program

On November 7, 2024, the final conference of the swissuniversities P7 program took place in Bern.

Since 2021, we have been working on the topic “Accessible Teaching in Higher Education”. We presented the results of the project during the poster session. We also participated in the round table on the question of the intersectionality and sustainable implementation of the project results in Swiss higher education institutions.

From October 25 to 27: Cybathlon

Cybathlon took place in Zurich (and the local stadiums) from October 25 to 27, 2024. Cybathlon is a competition for assistive technologies designed to support people with disabilities in everyday tasks. Teams from all over the world competed against each other to solve specific tasks as precisely and quickly as possible.

The SDR participated in the Visual Race with Team Sight Guide. The team finished third on the podium and won the jury award for innovation and usability.

29 May 2024: Digital Accessibility Workshop at the ZHAW Digital 5-year anniversary

On May 29, 2024, ZHAW digital celebrated its fifth anniversary. The SDR was there and organized a workshop on digital accessibility.

November 2023: Three online workshops on digital accessibility

The SDR organized three free online workshops in English on Tuesday morning, November 28th. The following topics were presented: 

  • From 8:00 to 9:30 am: Document Accessibility
  • From 9:50 to 10:50 am: Video Accessibility
  • From 11:10 am to 12:10 pm: Accessible Apps

The workshops were organized by Prof. Dr. Alireza Darvishy and Oriane Pierrès. 

 

Fall 2022: OER Creator Workshop

The "OER Creator Workshop" took place in the fall semester of 2022. The workshop covered the creation and sharing of accessible open learning materials, also called Open Educational Resources (OER). During the workshop, participants created their own OERs, with support from experts.
